Passengers on board the EZY6862 easyJet flight from Malaga were advised by the captain the plane had suffered a suspected burst tyre, prompting the emergency response.

A passenger on the flight told: "Currently on 14.50 Malaga to Glasgow flight. Plane landed with massive bang. Came to standstill moments later. Captain tells us he suspects tyre bursted on landing. Now fire engines with blue lights rushing to check out what’s happened. Stuck on runway."

An easyJet spokesperson told: "We can confirm that, after safely landing, flight EZY6862 from Malaga to Glasgow suffered a burst tyre. Emergency services attended as a precaution only.

The aircraft is currently being towed to stand and passengers will disembark normally.

The safety of our passengers and crew is the airline’s highest priority. The aircraft will be inspected by engineers as a precaution and in line with procedures." (GlasgowLive)
